December 2009
Dear Friends,
As we bid goodbye to 2009 and welcome 2010, I wish to extend the gratitude of the 2009 St. Nicholas Parish Council to all of you for your support of our Church.
The coming of a new year is a time for reflection, celebration and hope. As we look back on the past year and all that has taken place, I hope we remember each experience for the good that has come of it and for the knowledge we have gained.
Remember the laughter, the joy, the hard work, and the tears. The goals we set were grand, and we should remember the efforts made to reach them. We should remember the love and friendship we have shared and the happiness we have brought to others. But, as we reflect on the past year, we should also be thinking of the new one to come and what we hope to achieve there, building on the foundation we have already set. A new year, a new decade, a new chance to do things better. Another chance to repair, build, and move forward.
Maybe the end of a year is neither an end nor a beginning, but a continuation, with all the wisdom that our experiences can instill in us. For in the end, isn’t it all about our time, and how we choose to use it? The best time to begin is today!
A happy New Year! Grant that I May bring no tear to any eye When this New Year in time shall end Let it be said I've played the friend, Have lived and loved and labored here, And made of it a happy year. ~Edgar Guest
A blessed New Year to all.
Your Faithful Fellow Steward and Friend, Joanne Matthews Forbes Parish Council President
